Sunday Soul: The Escorts

The members of The Escorts met while doing time at Trenton State Prison. During one of their performances for guests visiting the joint, they were discovered by Linda Jones who was accompanied by her producer/manager George Kerr (Motown), she was there visiting her brother.

After 2 years of pleading and petitioning, the members of The Escorts were released from prison in 1973, recorded their first album "All We Need Is Another Chance" and took off...Unfortunately in 1977 the lead singer Reginald Haynes got caught up for a crime he didn't commit. Spent 11 years locked up and once released still made music.

Their cover of "I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow" (In my humble opinion, better than The O'Jays version)

This track below is what is warming up my Sunday morning....
