Very excited to be a part of this new party...I have always liked Otis lounge, it reminds me of NY for some reason. I have a stack of late 90's early 2000's Jazze Pha productions/Roc-a-fella/Def Jam records that haven't been played in while....blowin' the dust off those. Playing Soul and Rnb...old and new. Starting March 1st and every Tuesday after, join us!

Listening Sessions w/Joe Vargo
My good friend/producer/spiritual advisor/mentor Joe Vargo recently bought a collection from a deep, highly knowledgable house/electronic music head (Love you Jon Jon) and last night I went to Joe's studio to play that game "pick a random record out of the pile and let's play and discuss". Love the bassline on this one
The Whispers and Stephanie Mills at Paramount OAK
Went to see these 2 favorites last Sunday with E da Boss. By the end of the night my contacts were dried out- I didn't blink once out of fear I would miss something...unbelievable performers, voices that compare to no other. Teena was supposed to play that night (RIP) and the City of Oakland declared Feb. 13th "Teena Marie Day. Her manager came out to accept the honor...so emotional!
And Stephanie is a DIME PIECE! 54 years old and still killin' it. Her voice sounds just as good as it did in 1979.

Which version do you prefer?
Kon put me onto this track. The version he introduced me to is L.S. Movement. (1981)
Thunnder-Move Everything You Got...This version has Los Angeles written all over it...(1982)
I personally like L.S. Movement better...a little less going on, which showcases the horns nicely, love the key stabs.

Spacy LP is such a beautiful record. I play "Dancer" (A-side, 5th cut) alot which the R&B songbird Nicole Wrey sampled for her track "Can't Get Out The Game" (See Below)
