Double Dutch in the Mission. It is one of my favorite places to play because the vibe is like a house party-the dance floor gets packed and the energy is so contageous. Not to mention the bar owner and staff treat are the friendliest I've ever worked with.
I first played at Double Dutch a year or so ago on Fridays for Happy Hour with my friend Jason, AKA DJ @LRG. We met on the N-Line outbound. I was carrying a crate of records and when he approached me to talk I thought he was gonna ask about my "makeup case" (that's what most people mistake it for) and he laughed, then asked "You're a DJ?" We started talking and exchanged numbers. Then he invited me to play out with him.
From his all 45 sets, to dancehall sets, to his party rockin' panty dropppin' sets, he is amazing to watch. I am lucky to have him back this Friday while he visits from Montreal, which is where he lives now.
Also, iamfacemelter will be opening up.
